EBL-Meena Bazar launch co-branded card  

Eastern Bank Limited (EBL), Meena Bazar and VISA announced the launch of the first ever supermarket co-branded credit card in Bangladesh at a ceremony in Dhaka on July 30,2017, a press release said Wednesday.

The EBL-Meena Bazar Visa Platinum co-branded credit cards will offer customers an enriched experience and help them save more on daily expenses while being able to pay securely and conveniently and earn unique rewards and enjoy exclusive offers.

The co-branded credit card will earn 2 Meena Bazar Club points for every BDT 100 spent at any Meena Bazar supermarket affiliated store with no minimum spend threshold on transaction amount, along with several excusive offers and special promotions.

“This partnership is very significant to us as we truly believe that we have launched a unique product in the market – now Meena Bazar shoppers have an opportunity to earn more Meena Bazar Club Loyalty points as well as enjoy special Visa and EBL privileges both at home and abroad using a single Co-Branded Card” Said Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO, EBL.

Speaking at the launch, Shaheen Khan, CEO of Gemcon Food and Agricultural Products Ltd (Meena Bazar), said: ” We were working together to make this partnership happen for a long time. This will be first time in the country where a major retail brand will have their own credit card. Our customers will now enjoy more freedom in their everyday shopping where they will simultaneously spend and save with a single card. ”
