Md. Shoyeb Rana from Chittagong emerged as the champion while Nasrin Akhtar from Dhaka and Md. Abu Bokor Siddick from Chittagong became first and second runners up respectively. Selection of winners were carried out based on Revenue earned and entrepreneurship demonstrated throughout the campaign duration. The award winning apps will be supported for three months with digital marketing support.
Robi’s Manager, IoT & Product Innovation, Md. Salah Uddin, Bangla Trac Miaki VAS Ltd.’s Country Director, Tanzina Hossain and BDApps Technology partner, hSenid Mobile Solutions’s Senior Business Solutions Engineer, Amith Lokugamage represented their respective organizations at the award ceremony. Robi’s General Manager, IoT & Product Innovation, Mohammad Musabbir and Miaki’s Head of Operation, Product and Sales, Riaz-Us-Sultan were also present in the program.
The AppFest award ceremony followed the “AppFest: Challenge the Appnovation 2017” contest which took place from February 2017 to May 2017 and gathered as many as 130 developers from around the country. Many new applications based on various Telco APIs available on Robi Axiata’s Developer Portal, BDApps were developed by the contestants during the app contest.
“BDApps” was launched in 2015 as a developer eco-system, enabling Bangladeshi developers to use various Robi network resources to transform their innovative ideas into Telco apps. This platform offers developer panel (dev.bdapps.com) which caters both developers and non-developers by providing APIs as well as easy to configure application patterns through a web portal. Currently BDApps hosts more than 1600 applications in various categories which can be either subscribed via SMS/ USSD or downloaded from www.bdapps.com.
