Dhaka Travel Mart 2017 begins in city from March 30

The three-day international tourism fair titled “Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) 2017” will be held at the Ballroom of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka from March 30.

The fourteenth version of the DTM is being organised by The Bangladesh Monitor, premier travel and tourism English fortnightly of the country. The leading private airline US-Bangla Airlines joined the event as the Title Sponsor.

Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor, The Bangladesh Monitor, formally announced the hosting of DTM 2017 at a press conference held at a city hotel today, Saturday, February 4, 2017.

Akhtaruz Zaman Khan Kabir, Chief Executive Officer, Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) and Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Managing Director, US-Bangla Airlines addressed the press conference, among others.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on title sponsorship of DTM 2017 was signed between The Bangladesh Monitor and US-Bangla Airlines at the beginning of the press conference. Senior officials from both the organisations were present on the occasion.

“Dhaka Travel Mart, over the years, has been able to establish itself as a platform of mutual cooperation among the organisations, in the tourism sector from home and abroad. At the same time the fair provides opportunity for tourism lovers to choose their required products and services available under single roof”, said Kazi Wahidul Alam.

National tourism organisations (NTO), airlines, tour operators, hotels, resorts, financial institutions and others working in the travel and tourism sector will showcase their products and services at 68 stalls and five pavilions during the DTM 2017.

As before the participating organisations will offer attractive packages and discounts for the visitors during the three-day fair. Seminar on tourism will also be organised by The Bangladesh Monitor, on sidelines of the DTM.

Dhaka Travel Mart 2017 will remain open for the visitors from 10am to 8pm everyday from March 30 to April 1, 2017. The entry fee has been fixed at Tk. 30 per person. But entry will be free for media representatives, children under 12 years and physically handicapped visitors.

A raffle draw on entry coupons will be held on the concluding day of the fair. Winners will be awarded with air tickets to domestic and international destinations, accommodation at star hotels and lunch and dinner packages at reputed restaurants, among others.
