Maiden ethical hacking conference held in Dhaka

First ever ethical hacking conference, HackTag2017, held in Dhaka on Saturday, a press release said Monday.

Bangladeshi cyber security firm, Beetles Cyber Security Ltd, organized the conference at a city hotel to inspire ethical hacking in the country.

Sumon Ahmed Sabir, Chief Strategic Office of Fibre at Home, Beetles Chief Executive Officer, Md. Muqeet Halim, Directors, Nahidul Kibria, Shahee Mirza and Tarek Siddiki, among others, were present on the occasion.

The conference included a Capture the Flag competition, where the participants were asked to find out solutions of different cyber security related problems and the top three performers were rewarded by event organizer Beetles.

Beetles CEO Md. Muqeet Halim said that there is little or no coordination in ethical hacking in Bangladesh. We are working to develop a common platform for all the different groups of hackers to realize their talents for the betterment of the country.

Addressing the function, the even speakers focused on collaboration of initiatives by the ethical hacking groups and development of skilled human resources to strengthen the security of cyberspace as well as to build a sustainable industry in Bangladesh.
